Happy Birthday Arnold Newman!! American photographer, born in 1918, known for his black and white photographs, Newman got his start in photography by making 49 cent studio portraits in Philadelphia. He became famous for creating portraits of people in their own environments, photographing them in their comfortable surroundings, bringing his equipment and gear to them. It was important for him to consider composition and the things important to his subjects. The picture of Igor Stravinsky with his grand piano is his signature photograph.
